Asian American Institute Announces
2006 Milestone Honorees


CHICAGO--The Asian American Institute (AAI) will host its annual Milestone Awards Benefit on Wednesday, April 26th, 2006 at 5:30 p.m. at the Mid-America Club located at 200 East Randolph, 80th floor, Chicago, Illinois 60601.

"The annual Awards Benefit is a great celebration of leaders within the Asian American community," said Tuyet Le, Executive Director of AAI. This annual event gives the public an opportunity to meet and celebrate with Asian Pacific American (APA) community supporters and leaders.

Mia Park, the Mistress of Ceremonies of the event and eclectic artist, and an Asian American independent film- Thaniyoru Manidhanukku, by writer/ director Arun Vaidyanthan are just some of the highlights of this year’s annual benefit. The Milestone Makers/Awardees of 2006 are Apna Ghar (Our Home), First Asian American domestic violence organization in the Midwest; Abdul Malik Mujahid, President and Director of Sound Vision Foundation Inc.; Linda Yu, Anchor and Reporter, ABC 7 News.
